About Me

Originally from Atlanta, I spent most of my life in Birmingham, Alabama. I spend my free time (if I can find any) listening to music, spending time with my dog, Keevah, and attempting to bake like I’m on the Great British Baking Show. When I first got to Auburn, I fell in love with public relations, where the community and the organization can both prosper from such a simple thing as communicating and listening. After graduating a year early with my bachelor’s in Public Relations from Auburn University, I couldn’t leave quite yet. So, I stayed and finished my master’s program in communication while teaching public speaking classes. My thesis is about the National Football League’s (NFL) response to concussion and Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE) using image restoration as my primary lens of analysis. With this, I conducted several hours of quantitative research where I coded hundreds of messages for image restoration strategies. I’ve studied this topic for over two years and it has become a passion of mine. This is why I believe in public relations that balances the needs of an organization with the needs of their audiences.
