Why I Do It

I believe that my purpose in life is to help people and I will do whatever I can in order to fulfill that purpose.

One of my proudest projects is the Maple St. house with Alabama Rural Ministry where we turned a dilapidated house into a duplex for homeless veterans.

From office work to hard labor, I will do what it takes to make people’s lives better.

I believe in organizations that engage with their local community to improve the lives of their neighbors. I wish to be a part of an organization like this and want to actively work to better the community through my work. I believe that corporate social responsibility and active community relations will benefit an organization in the long run.

Being a group leader for my local church (and winning group of the year back-to-back) is always a great time, whether that’s leading middle schoolers through their spiritually journey or helping high schoolers become the future leaders they are mean…

People have always been the focus of my life.

Growing up, my ma was a single mother working a full-time job in Atlanta, Georgia. Without the kindness of our neighbors, family, and friends, we would not be where we are today. When I started my college education, it was the random friendships developed from classes, clubs, and the Auburn Family that supported me and motivated me to be the best that I can be. I believe that strangers can be the most influential people in someone’s life and I actively work to make sure no one stays a stranger for very long.

One of the last sunsets I would see leaving campus as a student at Auburn University. I spent most days working on campus from 8 am till 8 pm and these were one of the things that made all that work worth it.

I live life by the Auburn Creed because it is a set of principles that creates an environment for success for more than just yourself.

There are two lines in the Auburn Creed that really stand out to me every time I read it: lines three and six. Line three says, “I believe in honesty and truthfulness, without which I cannot win the respect and confidence of my fellow men.” This mentality of being honest is not just for the individual, but for everyone. The sixth line says, ”I believe in the human touch, which cultivates sympathy with my fellow men and mutual helpfulness and brings happiness for all.” This line resonates with me because it perfectly summarizes my philosophy of how actively helping people can lead to a mutual benefit and I believe that public relations is the optimal field for me to follow this purpose.
